Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev secured his first trophy for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a former world number one, has had a torrid period, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in particular - led to him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.
It is his maiden trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court from that period of that year.
Success also indicates the Russian has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one various competitions.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my children at once, so to get a trophy is really nice," stated world number 14 Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his last six championship matches, including in Halle previously this season.
The player's counter-punching strategy and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had caused commentators to question if his skill to compete at the elite level was finished.
But the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the first set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the final five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair traded service breaks in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his first ATP Tour victory, took control to create a decider.
The opponent defended 4 initial break points in a tight deciding set before the Russian broke to 15 to secure the win.
Appropriately, the winner clinched victory with a point at the net, with Moutet unable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
